- I have read previous books by this author in the past so my interest was piqued when I saw this title.
It was a good story overall, but I found it hard to really get into at the beginning since I felt there were too many details about Piper in the store. One moment you're reading about Colton and Piper sharing their first kiss and the next thing you read, it feels like, they're getting married. Not a lot of details re their dates and how the relationship progressed to boyfriend/girlfriend. Does that automatically happen after a first kiss?
There was another story line running concurrently to the main one. The secondary one involved Piper's grandfather (Rand) and Colton's aunt (Ruth). The author never said what happened between Rand and Ruth when they were younger. Why did they break up? There was speculation, but no definitive answer. All of a sudden, they get married on the same day as Colton and Piper! What made Ruth decide to give Rand a second chance? She was rather stubborn throughout the story (i.e., not giving into Rand's flirtations). What changed???
Overall, a clean read with kissing scenes. I wish the author would have provided more details in one area and provided less details in another. - The Easter Bride (Book #3 in the Holiday Bride series) is a wonderfully crafted contemporary romance by the incomparable Shanna Hatfield. Piper Peterson is a delightful heroine, part tomboy, part girlie-girl, and all sass and heart. Her love for animals, from Charlie the rescued horse to Brer Stoker, the grumpy bunny, and a feed store full of baby chicks is sure to win your heart…just as she won Colton's heart.
Colton Ford knows he wants to breed horses but isn’t sure how he can go about it. He’s also unsure about getting involved with a woman…until he meets Piper slogging through muck and mire to rescue a goat. Despite his brother and sister-in-law’s claim that Piper is an attractive woman, Colt just can’t see it through the slick mud clinging to her from her head to her toes…until he sees her beautiful blue eyes.
Add a dash of three feisty, unstoppable octogenarians and you have the recipe for a fun, lighthearted spring romance that will keep you laughing and reading. Piper Peterson is right where she wants to be managing her grandfather's feed store and living in the small farm out back where she tends a menagerie of unwanted rescue animals. Colton Ford is staying at his brother's farm temporarily while he sorts out what he will do with his life. Eccentric Mathilda is at it again at the "Hokey Pokey Hotel" trying to make a long overdue match with Piper's Gramps and long time resident Ruth. The problem is Gramps wants to sell the and farm and Piper doesn't know what she'll do. Colton knows he will be leaving his brother's ranch soon. One thing they both know is they have intense feelings for each other as they attempt to match up Gramps and Ruth. Author Shanna Hatfield is a taste easy to acquire with her mastery of romance, cowboy gentlemen, sweet independent ladies and the mingling of lovable animals into her tales. Book #3 in her Holiday Brides series definitely doesn't disappoint and just when you think you've gotten it all sorted out the author springs a shocking surprise on you!

This is a must read for sure!!! - This book is amazing, Matilda, Ruth and Rand were great as usual, I totally loved Colton and Piper, and all the Animals were wonderful. Shanna Hatfield Books are wonderful, she always writes so interesting. I Love her Books.
- This is another sweet and entertaining book by a very favorite author. Always guaranteed to have you laughing at the antics of the pets in the story and sighing at the romance between the lovely, strong heroine and the handsome, kindhearted, but strong hero. With a well written and fun storyline, this book had not just one, but two happily ever afters and I enjoyed it thoroughly. JudyE
- Another great story in Holiday, a small farming community. Matilda, the scheming matchmaker, is at it again. This time she works to get two couples together. Love the character of Piper and the Rambo bunny! A great read with great characters, country charm, and romance.
- Another sweet story set in the town of Holiday. Colt and Piper are a lovely couple. Throw in some adorable, quirky animals and Matilda the Matchmaker, you've got a great springtime read. Nice secondary storyline between Rand and Ruth. Shanna Hatfield at her best.
